Internationale Spieltage SPIEL
Internationale Spieltage SPIEL (called the Essen Game Fair too) is an four-day boardgame trade fair. This event always takes place in Essen (Germany) in October and brings together publishers and board game lovers not only from Europe, but also from all over the world.
The story driven escape game
During this annual event many board games premieres take place, also those related to escape rooms. For several years Escape Tales series games published by Polish publisher Board & Dice have been shown during the fair. The authors of the series are the creators of Polish marketplace Lockme, which creates a database of escape rooms from many countries. Together with the publishing house they have created a new category of board games - story driven escape games. Their premiere at Internationale Spieltage SPIEL has become a kind of a tradition.

Spiel 22'
Spiel 2022 started October 6 and lasted until October 9, 2022. Each year, publishers present their new games at this event. According to Board Game Geek (BGG) website on Spiel 22' there were over 1200 premiere released.
