Our Escape Adventure Part 16: All Good Things Must Come To An End!
Greetings from St. Augustine, FL! After eight months on the road, 46 states and 282 escape rooms, we have made it back to the Sunshine State!
The finals of the Escape Room World Championships took place on Saturday, October 7. The competition of the 10 final teams could be observed in Hydropolis in Wrocław, where the competition was held, as well as online. Who received the title of Champions?
After years of break caused by the situation in the world, Escape Room Championship (previous Poland Escape) has returned to its original form. For the first time in 4 years, the Championship finals were held live in Wrocław, Poland. The event attracted escape room lovers from all over the world. The competition audience included people not only from Poland, but also from Greece, Slovenia, Bulgaria and France. After the competition, all participants - fans and guests - met at the afterparty, where the results were announced and awards were presented.
Hydropolis is a Wrocław center of knowledge about water combined with a modern form of exhibition. The museum is located in a 19th-century underground clean water tank, which served its function until the 21st century. Through the use of modern multimedia technologies, interactive installations, replicas and models, MPWiK, the museum manager, wants to show water from different perspectives and convey to recipients how valuable a resource it is.
Hydropolis proved to be the perfect venue for the Championship finals. The space theme of this year's edition fits perfectly into the museum.
10 teams took part in the finals of the 7th edition of the Escape Room Championship. The players came from all over the world - USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, Japan and Poland. This year, the title of champions went to the team that specially flew to Poland from Japan. RIDDLER SUKIYAKI is one of two Asian teams that qualified for the finals.
Also on the podium were the team from France - Les Wyrds, taking 2nd place, and the team from the USA - 6 keys, taking 3rd place.
There have never been so many people involved in the creation of any previous editions of ER Champ. Several technical teams were involved in the preparation of the Championship, whose task was, among other things, to conduct a live stream. Video was broadcast on the YouTube channel throughout the event. An Aftermovie with ER Champ 2023 was also created.
ER Champ organisers are looking for co-creators. If you want to join the ER Champ 2024 team, check the advertisement and contact them via the application form. All information can be found on the Championship website in the Join Us tab.
Editor-in-chief, Writer
Journalist and indologist by profession. Writer, marketer, tarantulas keeper and urbex explorer by heart. In the meantime I’m playing escape rooms and board games, and I wonder how I find time to sleep (still dunno). I was born to write - my favorite forms of expression are extensive articles preceded by a long research, and horror stories (for some it’s the same).

The New Year brings us an amazing new project, created for fans of puzzles and horror. The Key Of Dreams is an extraordinary experience whose main theme is the work of H.P. Lovecraft as well as the other weird fiction horror authors from a bygone era.
